Hi, I'm Shannon Horgan.
Wife to Paddy and mother of 3 wonderful kiddos- Lily, Kevin and Norah. Being a mother is my number one priority and passion, as well as gardening which I spend a lot of time doing in my spare time.
I have always had a passion for photography for as long as I can remember. It started with my love of going through our "box of photos"- A large sturdy citrus box that was filled over the years with our family photos- forget photo albums. I got my first big girl camera in high school- An old 35 mm film Minolta- and a lost art.
I love to capture life's beautiful moments that you may not realize are even happening. I prefer capturing candid photos that tell the true story of the moment, verses the posed scene. My dream is to become a labor and delivery photographer. Freezing in time those stunning moments a mother goes through to bring new life into this world. There is something about capturing a mom to be in the throws of labor- forever pausing in time the moment when a woman is doing one of the hardest yet most rewarding and life changing things she will ever do. Moments she will want to remember forever.
Why Wise River? Because Google told me so, that's why. As I was coming up with a name for my photography business, when contemplating "Shannon Lindsey Photography" I just didn't like the way it rolled off the tongue. So I turned to trusty Google, looked up my names meaning, and here we are. "Wise River." I feel it's suiting to my personally. I love nature, being barefoot outdoors, and quite literally 'The River,' 1000 Islands is my favorite place in the world. Some might dispute that I'm pretty wise as well. But I like to remain humble about that.
